Dr. Amerson Pegram
Dr. Pegram is a board-certified ophthalmologist with advanced fellowship training in oculofacial plastic and cosmetic surgery. He specializes in surgeries of the orbit, eyelids, eyebrows, and tear ducts, along with a full range of facial cosmetic procedures including cosmetic lower eyelid blepharoplasty, brow lifts, face and neck lifts, as well as non-surgical treatments like filler and Botox.
A native of Murfreesboro, TN, Dr. Pegram is proud to return home to serve the people of Middle Tennessee with the highest standards of surgical care and aesthetic expertise.
He earned his Bachelor of Science in Advanced Mathematics with a minor in Chemistry, graduating cum laude from Middle Tennessee State University in 2006. He went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis in 2011, where he was one of only five students awarded the prestigious Letitia G. Doggett Scholarship for academic excellence, leadership, and professionalism. In 2010, he was also inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, an honor selected by peers and faculty.
Dr. Pegram completed his transitional internship and ophthalmology residency at the University of Tennessee and Hamilton Eye Institute in Memphis. He then pursued an elite two-year fellowship in both ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery (ASOPRS) and facial cosmetic surgery (ABFCS) at Eyeplastx in San Antonio, Texas. During this time, he was recognized with the Best Poster Award at the 2017 American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery Annual Meeting for introducing a novel brow lift technique.
Dr. Pegram is a Fellow of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) and the American Board of Facial Cosmetic Surgery (ABFCS). He holds board certification in ophthalmology and is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Medical Association.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Pegram is a published author in his field and has contributed to numerous academic papers and presentations. He remains committed to combining surgical precision with an artist’s eye to help patients look and feel their best.
